Our old bar was a 2 tier bar. It worked for quite a few years, but the more grandchildren we got, the less useful it was. It was hard to eat on one level and have the food on another. We found a piece of bowling alley on Craig's List. It sat for many years in the garage waiting for us to get the nerve up to actually do something with it. Once we decided that now was the time, it still took quite a few saw blades to cut the piece to the right length and to angle the ends. When it came time to get it in the house it was very heavy and quite flimsy, with the brace boards off.
We still have some finishing to do, but we are very happy that we finally did it. Another project almost off the list and just in time for Christmas and all the grandkids.
And the really nice thing is that my old bar stools are wood and all we have to do is cut a couple inches off each leg and they are reusable.
